Meet Dr. Bengali
Dr. Raheel Bengali is a double board-certified pain management physician and anesthesiologist in New Braunfels, TX who specializes in treating pain disorders of the neck, spine, and body. He is board certified in anesthesiology and pain medicine by the American Board of Anesthesiology and has been in practice for nearly ten years. As a previous student and clinical course instructor at Harvard Medical School, Dr. Bengali is diversely trained in the diagnosis and treatment of all kinds of chronic pain conditions. His expertise and drive for excellence in patient care have also earned him numerous decorations, including prestigious recognition in value-based healthcare delivery and the Patients' Choice Award 2016 – 2018 by Vitals.
Skills and Specialties
Dr. Bengali treats acute and chronic pain by using advanced multimodal therapies, including but not limited to anesthesia, BOTOX, epidural injections, spinal cord stimulation, peripheral nerve stimulation, and intrathecal treatments. His diverse experience makes him an expert in treating all kinds of pain issues and disorders, including joint pain, migraines, spine pain, complex regional pain, and neuropathic pain.
Education and Training
Dr. Bengali has a Bachelor of Science degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Miami where he designed and created his own medical simulation software. He then continued his education at the University of Miami where he earned his medical degree. After completing medical school, he served his anesthesia residency at Harvard's Massachusetts General Hospital, which is ranked as the number one anesthesia program in the country. He then served his fellowship at Harvard’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital, which is considered one of the most competitive interventional pain medicine programs in the United States.
Publications and Leadership
While at Harvard, Dr. Bengali became an internationally recognized expert in anesthesiology and pain medicine. His expertise enabled him to present at national conferences, including the American Heart Association, American Society of Anesthesiologists, and American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine. He also served on the Massachusetts Medical Society Ethics and Grievances Committee in addition to publishing many academic journals on anesthesia and pain medicine.
