Tricity Pain Associates in New Braunfels and Seguin, TX offers several kinds of diagnostic testing, including discography. Commonly known as a discogram, this procedure is an imaging test that captures pictures of the intervertebral discs of the spine. This helps identify fractures and other damage to the discs and pinpoints the exact location of these concerns. It is typically reserved for patients who have been experiencing persistent long-term pain without relief from conservative treatments. If you are battling consistent back pain that cannot be eased with over-the-counter medication, then it may be time to visit with a physician to discuss your concerns.
"Tri-City Pain Associates are some of the best doctors I've had the privilege of seeing. I initially saw Dr. Bengali last October (2016) for lower back pain. He ordered an MRI which diagnosed a plethora of problems. Bengali did epidural injections, facet blocks, ablation, and a discogram. I have also seen Howard Kagan at this practice.I am having lumbar fusion surgery @ L4-L5, L5-S1 next week. I know I am in good hands with Tri-City Pain Associates."- M.B. / Google / Feb 14, 2018
A discogram is a simple imaging exam that is performed on-site at our care facility. It typically takes about 30 – 60 minutes to complete, and patients will be free to resume their usual activities afterward. At the start of your exam, a contrast dye will be injected into the target area to capture detailed images of your spine. This is accomplished by using state-of-the-art x-ray technology that provides a live image of your bone structures. Once the exam is complete, we will review the images and discuss our findings with you in a follow-up appointment. The final step will be to create a treatment plan that will ease your pain to enable optimal back function and health.
