About Spinal Cord Stimulation
Spinal cord stimulation (SCS) is a cutting-edge therapy that uses a small medical device and electrical energy to relieve persistent nerve pain in the spine. This is an advanced treatment that is generally reserved for patients who have been battling chronic nerve pain without success from other forms of care. Due to the highly specialized nature of this treatment, SCS involves a one-week trial to determine if it is ideal for your condition. If you are tired of trying conservative therapies, like nerve blocks and steroids, without any noticeable improvement, spinal cord stimulation may be ideal for you. Reach out to Tricity Pain Associates in New Braunfels or Seguin, TX to learn more.

Spinal Stimulation Treatment
Once the one-week trial run is complete and deemed successful, you will return to our office for the long-term implant of your spinal cord stimulation device. The SCS system uses a lead wire, pulse generator, and external remote to control the electrical pulses. The system is implanted near the lower portion of the spine to prevent localized sensory nerves from transporting pain signals. We suggest that you arrange for a responsible adult to drive you home after your procedure. It's normal to experience mild swelling and bruising near the treatment site, but this should subside in a few days and can be eased with over-the-counter pain medication.
If you want to avoid major back surgery and have tried conservative treatments without much improvement, we invite you to call Tricity Pain Associates to see if SCS is right for you. We have locations in both New Braunfels and Seguin, TX.
