About Muscle Injuries
A muscle injury occurs when there is damage to the soft tissues of the body: muscles, tendons, and ligaments. This type of trauma is generally the result of repetitive movements or physical injuries from contact sports, like football and wrestling. Other strenuous activities, like heavy lifting and running, can also place strain on your muscles. Soft tissue injuries can produce unwanted symptoms, such as stiffness, numbness, tingling, and limited mobility. This is why it's important to incorporate self-care regimens, like stretching, hot and cold therapy, and rest, into your daily routine. At Tricity Pain Associates in New Braunfels and Seguin, TX, we have worked with countless men and women who have suffered from a severe muscle injury. "I just finished lower back pain treatments. For the first time, in a long time, I can sleep in any position without pain or discomfort. Three injection sessions in L4. Very happy with my Pain Doc (how he is listed in my contacts). Side note, the young lady that checked me in each time was super nice."- D.Z. / Healthgrades / Jul 09, 2022
"I was truly impress with the treatment that was received from Dr. Sridhar Vasireddy. I had issues with my hip for over 6 months and was referred to Dr. Vasireddy. My treatment was a hip injection with sedation. Dr. V., was very detailed in explaining the procedure and the steps he would take. He concentrated on giving me the injection to an area was called “the ring”. I highly recommend Dr. Vasireddy. He is an awesome doctor!"- S.B. / Google / Apr 12, 2022

"I was referred to Dr. Vasireddy by the VA. I could walk only with a walker. After reviewing my MRI, he provided a plan of action with a series of injections and radio ablations. I can now walk nearly as well as prior to my incident. He also was able to provide relief for my popping, painful tailbone. I have had this condition for many years and no one has found the cause until I asked Dr. Vasireddy about it. He knew the problem, did some diagnostic test shots, and then radio ablation that really provided me with instant relief! My pain is now at least 90 % relieved! Thank You Dr. Vasireddy and also your very polite and courteous team."- C.M. / Google / Nov 18, 2021
Muscle Injury Treatments
Typically, muscle injuries can be eased with at-home care regimens, like ice baths, hot packs, and over-the-counter pain medication. However, when these types of therapies do not provide the relief you need, you may need to consider other treatments to help improve your symptoms. Generally, we usually recommend a combination of physical therapy and prescription pain medication. In some cases, steroid injections, muscle relaxants, and nerve blocks may be considered to significantly reduce your discomfort. Our interventional pain care physicians will work closely with you to build a custom treatment plan that is appropriate for your condition, level of pain, and personal preferences.
